In the heart of the Swistaue, on the outskirts of Bonn, Burg Heimerzheim welcomes you with its wide range of event offerings. Whether it’s a corporate celebration, wedding, or birthday party, Burg Heimerzheim is the perfect venue for every occasion—see for yourself. The castle has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. The first parts of the building were constructed as a fortification in the mid-13th century. Over time, successive owners expanded and modified the complex. Until the first half of the 14th century, the Lords of Heimerzheim resided here. Ownership then passed to the Teutonic Order, who used it as a commandery. In the following centuries, the castle changed hands among noble families, including the von der Horst, von Meinertzhagen, and von Quentel families. Eventually, it came into the possession of the von der Heyden family, known as Belderbusch. Upon the marriage of Countess Josephine von Belderbusch to Baron Karl von Boeselager-Heessen in 1825, ownership passed to the von Boeselager family. Burg Heimerzheim has remained in the Boeselager family for six generations. Today, Antonius Baron von Boeselager is the owner, living nearby in Schillingscapellen with his wife, Ilka Baroness von Boeselager. Today, Burg Heimerzheim is a popular destination, a modern castle hotel, and an exceptional event venue all in one. Situated on the outskirts of Bonn, we welcome you with 21 stylish hotel rooms, three event spaces, and a wide range of activities.
